Ciara x Nine West for Kohl's
Produced and arranged an original cover of the classic Boogie Shoes for a Nine West campaign at Kohl's, featuring Grammy-winning artist Ciara. Recorded at the legendary Terrarium Studio in Minneapolis, the track brought together a world-class ensemble — including the HornHeads, Prince's iconic horn section — to lay down live drums, bass, and horns. The result was a modern reinterpretation that honored the original's infectious groove while giving it fresh, contemporary energy.
From there, the track was taken deeper. The live recording became raw material — chopped, flipped, and rebuilt through a Southern hip hop lens. The horns were resampled and layered over hard-hitting 808s, the bass locked into a slow-rolling trap pocket, and the groove was restructured to hit with the weight and swagger of modern Southern production. What started as a soul classic was transformed into something entirely new — a record with roots in funk and a heartbeat built for today's culture.
